Elisa Garbar

Elisa Garbar was born in 1959.

In 1983, she graduated in Film and Audiovisual Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University (DERCAV). A year later, she obtained her Master's degree in Film and Literature at Paris III University. Then, she pursued at the film section of the Ecole Nationale Louis Lumière, where she graduated in 1986.

For ten years, she worked as a camera assistant on about fifty films. In 1996, she became director of photography for cinema and television. Then, she moves in film production where she will be leading about fifteen films.

In 2005, she joined Heinz Dill as a producer. Together, they found Louise Productions Sàrl in 2008. In 2014, she founded Louise Productions Lausanne.

Guillaume Senez's feature film "Keeper" was selected in 2015 at the Locarno Film Festival and Toronto's TIFF. The film has been awarded the Europa Cinema’s Label and has won numerous awards around the world. The same year, she produced "Burning Out", a documentary feature by Jérôme Lemaire, which had its international premiere at IDFA in 2016 and has been selected at FIPA 2017, before its theatrical release in Switzerland. The short film "Soltar" by Jenna Hasse has been selected at FIFF in Namur and at 25º Curtas Vila do Conde.

Most recently, she produced “And at worst, we marry” by Léa Pool, “An urgent matter” by Mohcine Besri and the documentary “The man we loved most” by Danielle Jaeggi.

Elisa Garbar is board member of the regional producers’ association AROPA and member of the foundation council of the regional fund Cinéforom.
